Yimin’s courtyard office renovation was the second part of a larger planning project which sought to unite the company’s fragmented collection of properties: an office tower and lobby facing Zhaojiabang Road, a semi-public circulation alley and parking, and a lowrise courtyard office building which also housed the company’s canteen.
The project centered on making the most of an existing courtyard, introducing plaza elements like water features, seating,, decks, and usable paved areas, as well as seasonal landscaping and tree plantings that will improve and mature as the years go by. Meanwhile, the inner facade was replaced with full walls of operable glass for the ground floor canteen and offices above.
