JIAN ZHENXIANG HOTEL

The existing buildings of this transformation project were just recently completed, originally designed as an even mix of office, business hotel, and commercial functions. The client, who had just recently acquired the property however, sought to explore an alternate use: an expanded, more resort-oriented hotel environment in anticipation of the opening of a Six Flags Amusement Park which was under construction nearby.

The project’s new use as a family-oriented resort hotel were in stark contradiction to its mostly industrial and generic surroundings, however, so the resulting concept focussed on creating a lush, insulated courtyard to which all functions were oriented.
