OUR OFFICE
Our office is located in the French Concession, near the Changshu Road metro station (Lines 1 & 7). As is typical of this vibrant international neighborhood, we are surrounded by a mix of Asian and Western restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. We work in a sunny, open office environment with a view over the Plantane-lined streets below.
我们的办公场所位于上海法租界区，常熟路地铁站（一号线和七号线）近在咫尺。周围遍布各种中西式餐厅、酒吧以及咖啡厅，生活便利，交通方便。我们的办公空间宽敞明亮，阳光充足，可以俯瞰葱郁的树木和街区。
COLLEAGUES
JSA currently consists of a small, hard-working team of young designers. We are looking for talented and ambitious candidates not only to meet the demand of incoming projects, but to help grow and build JSA itself – boosting our capabilities, but also helping to shape our design values.

THE WORK WE DO
Much of our recent work have been transformation projects, though we often seek out new project types. In the past year projects have included cooking school, planning for the repurposing of agricultural areas, renovations of a couple historic Shanghai villas, transformation of a group of industrial buildings to commercial campus, a kids-oriented restaurant, concept for travel hotel, and an office complex upgrade of facade, lobby, landscape, and ancillary building.
In addition to their variety, many of JSA’s projects are multi-disciplinarian, starting with planning, merging architecture and interiors, and often integrating landscape.
JSA’s involvement in all phases of projects means that we work primarily at the medium to small-scale. The benefit of this is that our designers can experience the challenges of seeing their design develop from concept to completion, as well as have hands-on involvement in several projects simultaneously. We are actively on site and communicating with contractors and suppliers, controlling material and detailing, and coordinating as the work site evolves.
经过多年深耕，我们在各个领域积累了丰富的设计及咨询经验。随着上海城市更新需求的发展，我们开始了更多的城市更新设计实践。近几年，我们已经完成的项目包括有学校，农业用地的再利用，上海历史别墅的修复，工业建筑的商业化改造升级，儿童餐厅，酒店，和办公建筑的整体更新，包含外立面，室内，景观等。
除了项目种类的多样性之外，我们大多数项目都跨及到多个专业领域，从规划到建筑，从城市设计到室内空间，从社区景观到布景装置。对于规模适中的项目，我们将为客户提供全领域、全过程的设计咨询服务。JSA的设计团队将经历从项目的初期理念，逐步发展不断完善，直至项目最终建成，有时需会面对不同项目的多重调整。在项目进展过程中，我们会与现场施工团队以及供应商保持积极有效的沟通，通过施工工艺的控制和装饰材料的正确选用，以保证最大程度的设计实现。
OUR WORKING METHOD
JSA values an informal, flexible, and collaborative approach to design, extending from early concept to the creative problem-solving required during detailed design and construction. Our client’s vision and expertise are fully integrated into the design process, which means we attempt to develop concepts and style that are unique to a given project.
Our core design tools, AutoCAD, Sketchup, and InDesign are intentionally simple. We want everyone to have the skills to draw, model, and prepare material to present or communicate efficiently to clients, consultants, or contractors.
JSA also highly values candidates who are actively building skills and resources: researching and sourcing materials, improving their construction knowledge, understanding building codes and government approval processes; learning how to design with budget in mind, and keeping up with the state-of-the-art in the design industry.
从项目前期提出设计理念，到设计深化及施工过程中各种矛盾的建设性解决方案，我们均以轻松，灵活，合作式的方式工作。客户团队的理念和专业资源也会被最大限度融合到我们的工作过程中，这意味着我们会让每个项目的设计概念和风格更加独一无二。我们最大程度的简化设计工具，核心设计工具包括AutoCad，Sketchup，和InDesign，都很容易使用。我们希望团队里的每个成员都具有设计、绘图、建模以及选材的专业能力，并可以独立与顾客、顾问和承包商进行有效的沟通。此外，我们也欢迎那些在项目协调经验具备丰富经验的伙伴加入，项目协调的经验包括建筑材料的搜集选用，施工现场的技术管理，熟悉设计及建设法规，了解政府审批流程，了解项目概预算以及了解设计产业的前沿技术等
