This project evolved quite a bit throughout the design and construction process. The original plan was for an economic, fast-casual Western cafe, accompanied by a small shop selling the client’s imported and self-produced meats, seafoods, and other products. The cafe was to the client’ public face, a food distributor to high-end Shanghai restaurants and hotels. The cafe portion eventually transformed int a higher end bar and restaurant establishment branded EDGE, based on the client’s successful restaurant of the same name in Shenzhen.
